Urbis completed an Urban Framework Plan for the United Arab Emirate of Umm Al Quwain. This provides a plan that will accommodate a population of over 750,000 people and provide an efficient and attractive structure for the growth of the Emirate over the next 20 years.

Key features of the plan include the design of a new Central Business District that is linked to the coast and to the desert interior by a system of open space corridors; and the development of a tourist island town on the tip of the peninsula that is inspired by traditional arabic forms, and will provide a focal point for an expanded tourism industry.
